Faith and Hope Hospice also provides therapy for those patients that would benefit from such services. Our therapists are highly trained specialists in their field and can determine what interventions can help improve our patient’s quality of life. Therapy services consists of physical, occupational and speech therapies. Physical therapists evaluate our patients for their ability to walk, transfer from chair to bed, in and out of bed, into the bathroom, and to and from a car or wheelchair. They also assess the level of pain and provide therapy which can help reduce pain. Speech language therapists evaluate our patients for their ability in swallowing, speaking, or communicating in any way. They help the patients to better communicate and determine what types of foods or food textures are best. Occupational therapists evaluate the patient’s ability to accomplish their activities of daily living to perform normal everyday tasks that are commonly performed, such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing teeth and feeding themselves.
